Is your company looking for a challenge?
We asked Mandy Breingan what it was like for her team from BSkyB to take part:
Q. What was it like taking on such a challenge with your colleagues?
Very exciting but a daunting prospect because we had never done anything like this before.
Q. How did you and your colleagues prepare for the challenge?
We set walking challenges where we would all meet up at the weekends to do some long walks together.
Q. How did you fundraise with your colleagues? what fundraising advice would you offer participants who are in a team from their workplace?
We did various fundraising such as a Race Night; Easter raffles; \"Egg your manager\" as well as getting people to sponsor us. We also went round local shops and business who very kindly donated things like meals for two and free gym membership for six months which auctioned.
Q. Did your employer support you?
Very much – our employer matched the funds we raised which made a huge difference and were also kind enough to let us fundraise at the other branches.
Q. How did your support team help you reach the finish?
We had excellent support from our support team who met us with clean clothes and food and drink.
Q. What were your best bits of the event?
The finish line!! Some parts of it were really tough and it took the support of our fellow team members to get us to the end. It was all good....a lot of laughter with just a few tears along the way!
